OUR HISTORY
Libba Tishaw founded Douglasville School of Dance in 1975. The studio was located in the Market Square shopping center on Highway 5. During this time, Ms. Sheryl began studying dance at DSD in 1977. During the early 1980's she began assisting and teaching with several of the classes. Ms. Sheryl's dream was to one day become the owner of a dance school. It was in 1983 when Ms. Sheryl's dream would begin to come true; Ms. Libba approached her about purchasing the dance studio. In June, 1984, Ms. Sheryl and her husband purchased Douglasville School of Dance. The studio remained at the Market Square location through May 1989 until the opening of its current location on West Stewarts Mill Road. God continues to bless DSD through every dancer, family, and staff member.
OUR MISSION
We take pride in offering a quality dance program in a Christian, loving and nurturing atmosphere. Our programs instill the values of goal setting, perseverance, and a positive self-esteem along with the fun and enjoyment of dancing. Our goal is to give each dancer the opportunity to develop her own love of dance in a safe, Christian and non-competitive environment.
